Long Tail Keywords

We have always been taught that keywords are the most important part of marketing no matter what form. But now the emphasis is on long tail keywords. Why? Just think of what you type in when you are looking for information through a search engine. Do you type in "sausages" or do you type in more precise term like "how to make sausages"?

Single and two word keywords are played out and if you are trying to promote a product using "Affiliate Marketing" through say PPC (pay per click) you could end up paying through the nose for each click. These search terms are just so broad that getting targeted traffic this way is almost impossible.

Long tail keywords are the longer versions that people search for. They are really starting to come into their own at the moment and you can get very targeted traffic by using them. For example, if I am using PPC and I want to bid on keywords like "Buying smoked sausages online" the chances are that I am going to pay the lowest CPC (cost per click) possible.

Google now uses content and relevancy above all else, so these targeted keywords are bringing you super targeted traffic of people wanting to make that purchase, not just interested in getting free information.

Squidoo And Affiliate Marketing?

Many of you may have come from my Squidoo Lens, I have quite a few of them so I wont be listing them all here. Plus, I wont want to give away all my secrets in one go will I, so I often use other names for my lens depending on how great my market is.

If you have not used Squidoo yet to promote your affiliate marketing products, then I'd say you are missing out! My main lens is ranked #83 in SEO & Affiliate Marketing - That's in the top 100! (At the time of writing this.)

The Rich Jerks XRay Vision!

I have to say that I have been bombarded with emails regarding the Rich Jerks new XRay Vision software. What a price tag he can command, or can he?

After some digging it seems that the guy who created the software has only released a specific number of licenses for RJ to promote. RJ claims to be giving away the software and the price tag is for the course that goes with it.

I have seen plenty of software guys tell me that they have been using a version of this software to track their conversions and it only took them a few hours to come up with the programme! Perhaps RJ is pushing his luck this time, especially as he is aiming this little lot at the seasoned affiliate marketers.

I wont be promoting this product. I don't care how great his copy is, I just don't think that this is all it's hyped up to be. Only time will tell, and trust me, if it goes well I'll be the first to say I was wrong. (I have a sneaky little feeling I wont have to eat humble pie with this!)

Affiliate Marketing Daddy?

I am often asked where to start when it comes to affiliate marketing. There are only two places that I would send anyone involved, or starting to get involved, in affiliate marketing.

The first is Wealthy Affiliate, this is my top recommendation, it really is a fantastic resource. It's literally full of affiliate marketers who know their stuff, best of all, you get to speak to them and ask them any questions you want. They have a forum that is designed for people to ask questions on affiliate marketing and get responses from the rest of the group.

Kyle and Carson who own the site are great and offer one on one training, a fantastic opportunity to get real answers from real people who know their stuff! Unless you are already raking it in, I strongly recommend that you pay these guys a visit.

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I decided to start this blog to show people how easy it is to make money online. Now that might sound like a bold statement if you are not making money after putting in lots of hard work. I feel qualified to say it because I really couldn't make any money for three years online. I thought that I was the original Dumb Blonde!
